Races are held on Tuesday evenings at Beverly’s Lynch Park — 6:40 pm race start

Location: Lynch Park, 55 Ober Street, Beverly, MA (Google Maps link)

Time and Dates: Races will run each Tuesday evening starting at 6:40 pm from May 19 through August 25. Leave yourself adequate time to get your boat in position and yourself prepared.

Courses: There are 8 possible courses to paddle. Each race night, the paddlers will collectively decide which course to run based on that night’s conditions. There will be a LeMans start and finish at “The Wall”. There will be no timekeeper. Racers are responsible for keeping and reporting their own times.

Course #1 – Circle Eagle Island (6.2 miles)
Course #2 – Circle Bowditch Ledge Marker remnants (5.6 miles)
Course #3 – Circle Coney Island, proceed around Black Rocks, back to the Wall (5.0 miles)
Course #4 – Circle Black Rocks (3.2 miles), 5 minute rest, circle Red Nun at Jubilee Yacht Club (1.9 miles) – total is 5.1 miles
Course #5 – Circle Great Haste Rock (3.0 miles), 5 minute rest, Circle Red Nun at Jubilee Yacht Club (1.9 miles) – total is 4.9 miles
Course #6 – Circle Red Nun at Jubilee Yacht Club, proceed around Black Rocks, return back around Red Nun #4 (5.2 miles)
Course #7 – Circle Gray’s Rock (5.2 miles)
Course #8 – Circle both Aquavitae markers, proceed around Black Rocks, back to the wall (5.0 miles)

Boats: Although the League is primarily for surfskis, paddlers in other ocean-worthy craft are welcome to participate. However, only surfskis are awarded points in the League series.

Awards: You need to complete 10 races to be eligible for the League Champion Award and to receive an official League ranking. You can race as many races as you want – there are 15 possible races. Your season score will consist of your best N – 2 nightly scores, where N is the total number of League races that actually occur (N may be less than 15 due to thunderstorm cancellations).
